We make learning fun!! Welcome, Teachers, Homeschool groups and Youth Group Leaders!
Bring your students to the West Michigan Glass Art Center in downtown Kalamazoo to experience the art of glassblowing and a variety of other hands-on projects. Within our large facility, students can learn glass fusing, bead making, flameworking, sandblasting and glass blowing. Teachers and home school groups can bring students to watch a glassblowing demonstration, try some hands on glass art and bring lunches for a morning or afternoon of learning and fun!
Our glass art classes are available for elementary school, middle school, high school, college students and adults. Class times are available during school hours, after school, and in the evening. We also have classes on the weekends and throughout the summer. Participation in hands on activities will teach students the history, science and techniques behind glass art creation, while promoting creativity and generating pride in students of all ages and abilities. Teachers receive a detailed manual on various types of glass and their use. Step-by-step instructions and all glass, tools and supplies included.
Affordable projects at West Michigan Glass Art Center start at $18 per student and vary by projects chosen.
Schedule Professional Development Workshop for Art Teachers to learn about glass art to share with students.
