Summer Glass Camp is a Southwest Michigan summertime tradition at West Michigan Glass Art Center. Perfect for teenagers, this summer camp program is located in downtown Kalamazoo.  Summer Glass Camp is the highlight of many camper's summer!  Campers will learn valuable skills, form strong friendships and discover their amazing creative abilities.  Teens or kids will learn glassblowing, bead making, kiln fusing, lampworking (flameworking), sand casting and other glass arts.  The youth camp program ends with an exciting gallery exhibit open house for family and friends of the campers.  Teenagers will be invited to show their work at a fall exhibit at the Portage District Library. 2013 Sessions
Glass Explorers-Now enrolling!
Session1 - June 19, 20, 21
Session 3-July 1, 2, 3
Session 4-  July 11, 12, 13
Tuition: $250  Maximum: 12 students
   Three-day camp for beginning glass artists ages 10 to 18.  This camp will explore beginning techniques used to create glass art.  Campers will make a glass paperweight in the Hot Shop and create glass art using kiln fusing, flameworking, bead making, sand casting, sandblasting and more!  Call to register at 269-552-9802.
 
Teen Glassblowing-Now enrolling!
Session 2 -  June 25, 26, 27, 28
Session 5 -  July 16, 17, 18, 19
Tuition: $340 Maximum: 12 students
   Four-day teen glass camp is for glass artists ages 12 to 18 (no experience necessary).   This camp will focus on glassblowing, lampworking, bead making, sand blasting and kiln fusing.  Campers create a hollow blown glass vessel in the Hot Shop, flamework items with a torch, beads on a mandrel, sandblasting and finish a three-dimensional kiln fused project.  Call to register at 269-552-9802.
 
Teen Glass Inferno-Now enrolling
Prerequisite: Previous summer glass camp
Session 6 -  July 22, 23, 24, 25
Tuition: $340  Maximum: 12 students
   Four-day camp for returning glass artists ages 13 to 18.  This camp will focus on advanced techniques used to create glass art.  Campers will make blown and sculptural glass projects in the Hot Shop -  create glass art using kiln fusing, flameworking (lampworking), bead making, grinding, finishing and more.  Call to register at 269-552-9802.

All glass, materials, tools, and a cool West Michigan Glass Art Center Summer Glass Camp T-shirt is included.
Campers should wear closed toe shoes and 100% cotton long pants (T shirt and jeans are perfect!).

Camp Cancellation Policy:  One month prior to camp-full tuition will be refunded minus the $30 registration fee.  Two weeks prior to camp-50% tuition will be refunded unless we can fill your spot.  Anytime less than two weeks prior to camp, tuition will not be refunded.
